Wineries are usually measured by the number of ships. For example, a 2 container brewery might have a Mash/Lauter Tuns/Hot liquor tank combination container and a Boil Kettle/Whirlpool combination container.
At the more advanced end, a 5-container brewery will have a designated malt mixer, Lauter Tun, holding pot, boiling pot and a whirlpool. Each of these designated containers has a specific purpose, allowing you to brew large amounts of beer at the same time.
Likewise, the setting you ultimately choose will depend on your brewing needs, the space you must use, and your budget. Below is a list of breweries with different configurations based on the number of containers:
2 container winery
Mashing/filter barrel/hot wine barrel combination container + brewing pot/vortex
Mash/Lauter Tun + Brew Kettle/Whirlpool
3 container winery
Malt/colander/hot wine tank combination utensils + brewing pot + whirlpool
Mash/Lauter Tun + Brew Kettle + Whirlpool
Masher + Lauter Tun + Brewing Kettle/Whirlpool
4 container winery
Masher + filter bucket + brewing pot + whirlpool
5 container winery
Mashing machine + filter bucket + heat preservation pot + brewing pot + whirlpool bathtub
|General schedule for purchasing beer equipment|
Most craft breweries are custom-made, so it may take months to plan all the various components involved. The larger and more complex the brewery, the longer it will take to produce, deliver, and install. If the brewing equipment is produced in China, the transportation time will be longer. New equipment must be designed and built, and used and floor model equipment can be ready for shipment faster.
The supplier will be able to provide you with an estimate of when your craft brewery can be installed and ready for use.
|Construction cost of craft brewery|
There are many factors that affect the overall pricing of the brewing system and inevitably affect how to buy your own craft brewery. These factors include whether the components are manufactured by domestic or foreign manufacturers, whether the equipment is newly purchased or old, the size of the brewery or the delivery and installation of the entire system. For example, the used 3.5BBL system may cost 30,000 US dollars, while the new 3.5BBL system may cost 200,000 US dollars. The cheapest breweries are usually made in China, while the more expensive breweries are designed and built in the United States, Canada, and Europe. According to your production scale, the supplier can provide you with a quotation according to your brewing needs.
