High-density polyethylene plastic High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact resistance, is naturally translucent, flexible, and is commonly used in personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque appearance, resulting in increased weight and stiffness. We stock a variety of these rigid and tough HDPE products, including containers, barrels, bottles, lids, barrels and jars. HDPE works well in sub-freezing temperatures. HDPE thermal compatibility varies. The maximum fill temperature is generally around 145°F; however, testing for your specific product and application is recommended.
