10 BBL Mash/Lauter tun

10 BBL Mash/Lauter tun is a container used in the saccharification process to convert starch in crushed grains into sugars for fermentation. The saccharification/filter barrel is insulated to maintain a constant temperature. The mashing bucket/filtering bucket has a false bottom and a faucet, so that the spraying process can be completed in the same container. The saccharification barrel/kettle is made of stainless steel or copper.

It has the same capacity as the cooking pot and can also be made of stainless steel or copper cladding. It uses a false bottom made of stainless steel V-shaped wire and a rake tooth design with the functions of agitator, rake and waste gain remover. This is a very unique and useful tool because the filtered grain will be removed from the filter barrel, saving the winemaker a lot of time and energy. In addition, the filter bucket can be equipped with additional accessories, such as sight glasses, CIP nozzles, to simplify filtration.

10 BBL Boiling Kettle/Whirlpool Bath

After filtering, the beer wort and hops (and other seasonings, if used) are placed in a pot called a kettle/vortex barrel and boiled. The boiling process is where chemical and technical reactions take place, including sterilizing the wort to remove unwanted bacteria, releasing hop flavor, bitterness and aroma compounds through isomerization, stopping the enzymatic process, protein precipitation and wort concentration.

At the end of boiling, the hops are settled and clarified in the same container, which has a tangential wort inlet. Therefore, when the wort is immersed along the arc-shaped inner surface, a vortex is formed, thereby separating more solid particles in the wort. Since there are no obstacles in the kettle, vortexes may occur in the kettle.
