Fermentation is the process of producing alcohol and carbon dioxide by anaerobic respiration of yeast. This is the real "beer-making" stage. Yeast fermentation requires a process of aerobic respiration first and then anaerobic respiration. Aerobic respiration yeast multiplies in large numbers to provide more yeast for anaerobic respiration later. Anaerobic respiration produces the final alcohol and carbon dioxide after oxygen is used up.
The fermentation process takes place in a beer fermentation tank.
Beer fermentation tank introduction
Our fermentation tanks are constructed using SS 304 or SS 316 as desired, designed as cylinder conical tanks with cone angle between 65 to 72 degrees. These tanks are equipped with dimple jacketed glycol cooling system and insulated with 50 – 60 mm poly urethane foam. Tanks are fitted with high quality solenoid valves that regulate tank temperature. The cooling surface includes the cone and cylinder area. Independent cooling for cone and cylinder areas can be optionally provided. All tanks are fitted with high quality RTD sensors for accurate temperature indications.

The FV’s are all 304 SS TIG weld construction and polished to a sanitary interior finish.The fermentation tank is equipped with top dome head/hops adding port/dimple plate jacketed/CIP spraying ball/sampling valve/liquid level meter/beer outlet and sewage outlet/water-sealed mechanical regulating valve/pressure gauge/carbonation stone and other supporting valves. With polyurethane insulation to ensure that the fermenting temperature is kept at a low. Equipped with PT100 temperature sensor, with PLC auto-control system.

Cooling method | The conical fermenter has a cooling jacket. The cylinder portion of the tank has 1-2 section cooling jacket, and the cone has one cooling jacket. This structure facilitates the sedimentation and preservation of the yeast. |

Using | Conical tanks are not only suitable for the bottom fermentation, but also for the top fermentation. |
Cleaning temperature | Cleaning the fermentation tank with hot water or steam sterilization is very dangerous, and it is easy to form a vacuum pumping phenomenon. Therefore, the temperature of the cleaned fermenter should not exceed 40 degrees. |
Mechanical regulating valve | Mechanical regulating valve, when the pressure in the fermenter rises, danger will occur, so must install the valve. |
Breathing valve | Large tank is very sensitive to vacuum, and a small negative pressure will cause it to deform. |
Temperature sensor | the tank requires accurate temperature control and precise temperature regulation. So we should install it. |
Pressure gauge | In the process of fermentation or storage, we should monitor the pressure. The pressure gauge shows the pressure with a pressure gauge. |
Sampling valve | A sampling port is set on the fermenter to check the fermentation condition of of beer. |
Manhole | It is convenient for people to go in and clean. Check the tank for cracks or corrosion. Check the dead corners on the tank or in the pipeline. |
